8 is GREAT!
I recently got asked by the, now world famous, Autumn Society to be part of the upcoming 8-Bit Champions show in Paris, France at La Flaq Gallery. One of my favorite websites, Geek-Art, is helping to put this bad ass show together. They just finished last month the Blockbusterz show, apparently the French don’t mess around when it comes to pop art. The idea behind this one is each artist gets a classic 80’s 8 bit game, and does their won thing on a 12″ x 12″ canvas. I can’t wait to see this one come together. Lot’s of perfect old school games to be inspired by out there. Here is my submission for the Show, hope you like it. What do you think?
A few years ago they were showing Blazing Saddles in the Theater so I couldn’t pass it up. It’s one thing to see a classic movie like that at home in a small group but to see it in public, it was a sad reminder of how PC we have come since 1975. It might be the most comically racist movies ever made. But fear not my well scrubbed conservative friends, it was co-written by Richard Pryor. So that makes it all OK. And kind of explains why it’s so awesome. But don’t worry they don’t focus just one minority ( sorry Irish ), which also makes it OK. Mel Brooks can do no wrong, well except for Robin Hood Men In Tights. But nobody’s perfect. Needless to say, this flick is a classic. I’m glad to have it as part of my arsenal.
Like all of my paintings on this site, this one is also for sale. The 12″ x 24″ original is $500, 12″ x 24″ Giclee Box is $150, 12″ x 24″ Print is $50. If you want to go a bit smaller a 7″ x 14″Â Giclee Box is $75, and a 7″ x 14″ Print is $25. Plus tax and shipping. Let me know you are interested.
Here is a sweet video I found that sums up Blazing Saddles, enjoy good clean racism from 1975 in 359 seconds.
