I’m really glad “The Love Guru” blew chunks because it would be next to impossible to work that movie in here. But who am I kidding, these are the 2 Mike Myers characters that he will always be known for. And maybe I am the only one, but I am so ready for an Austin Power’s 4. And it needs to take place in the early 80′s. Punk Rock scene of London, but i digress. I wanted to do something with Mike Myers that showed Wayne’s World & Austin Powers somehow in a mash up. There was a great Han Solo/Indiana Jones I saw recently and I think that lit a fire under me to knock this out. Thanks for the inspiration. William O’Neill. I know there has got to be a name for this piece but my brain is too fried at the moment. Anyone got any ideas?? Hope you think it’s excellent, …baby.

And just for the hell of it, here ya go.

If you do not like them you are a sphincter boy.

Here is something that I cranked out this past weekend. I was trying to do a little something that wasn’t in my norm. I’m getting a little tired of my style and it’s time to freshen it up a bit. Not the subject matter of course. I am and hopefully forever will be a pop junky. But just trying to do something a bit different. Does it look different? I dunno. Maybe. Anyways, enjoy. Selling this 11″ x 14″ piece for $200. Giclee for $60, print $20.

I’m not gonna lie, I have been bullshitting about doing a Calendar of my paintings for a long, long time. I’ve even tried to get other artists to work with me and do a collection of paintings for Calendar too, and no dice. There are so many good themes to do one with and I am lucky enough to had done enough art with a movie theme to put something great together. So this is it, I’ve been working on the graphics in what little free time I had since summer. And I am hoping people respond to it well. Maybe it’ll be a new tradition to knock one out every year at this time. But that is up to you guys.

So here is the Holiday plug… If you know someone who is in to classic cult movies like “Vacation”, “Back to the Future” or “Three Amigos” and want to give them something truly unique for Christmas, this is your gift. Especially if it is someone who doesn’t shut up from quoting “Anchorman”, “Caddyshack” or “Ghostbusters”, this is the gift for them. I put together a collection my paintings mixed with some movie tie-in graphics for each month. Each painting has been inspired from my favorite movies, some I grew up watching as a kid and know religiously, as well as some new favorites. The size of the Calendar is 10″ wide by 18″ long, and has a black high quality spiral binding at the top. I didn’t F around with this, it is just like something you would by in the store. I’m really proud of how this came out and if this is your thing, I think you would really enjoy it.

Ordering is easy, follow this link, or just email me at Sam@SamCarterArt.com. They are $25 each plus tax. And shipping is $5 bucks anywhere in the country. And if you order multiple I’ll cut you a deal, just ask. Thanks for checking it out and let me know what you think!

Sometimes I have a hard time coming up with a good name for a painting. Not so much with this one. I kind of knew what it would be before I even started to paint it. It’s too ridiculous not to use. Anyway, if you are just joining us, this new painting of Cassandra from Wayne’s World is the 4th in a series I like to call “Sultry Sirens of the Silver Screen”. Take a gander at the pieces below to see what I am talking about. The Jennifer painting from Back to the Future got some good attention from being a part of the 3B show at Gallery 1988 in Venice, CA. And the  “Andy” painting was featured up in Astoria, Oregon as part of the Goonies show at Lunerboy. When this series started my idea was to get 12 of them and do a calendar. Well, only 8 to go i guess. So anyway, “Cassandra”, I am a fan of Tia Carrere.  That part “Ballroom Blitz” scene at the end of the first Wayne’s World always made me feel kind of funny, “like when you used to climb the rope in gym class”. I’m just not sure if she is worthy enough to be a part of this group of hot ladies from cult movies …NOT.

Hope you like this series, drop me a note below and let me know what you think.

Now sit back, relax and travel back to a time when Mike Myers was funny.
