This year’s Knotts Scary Farm art show hit different, it was the very first time us artists were given the anticipated green light to do Elvira art if we so desired. Um ya! I’ve been wanting to do an Elvira art piece for the show for years. However it was important for me to do a piece that wasn’t just the Mistress of the Dark herself, but something that also represents her massive role with the history of Knott’s Scary Farm. I see her as the Queen of B movies, probably because of growing up wit her tv show “Elvira’s Movie Macabre” and of course her incredible movie I was raised on, “Elvira: Mistress of the Dark”. So when I think of the ultimate of B movie posters, of course it is Attack of the 50 Foot Woman. And there the idea was born, it was begging for this mash up.
As always I am honored and grateful to be a part of this show filled with a ton of talented artists. Every one of them have a love for Scary Farm, and every year I love to see this new culmination of that ghoulish love. Thanks to everybody at Knotts who worked their butts off for the show, I love being included. And THANK YOU TO CASSANDRA PETERSON for allowing us to do these tributes. I heard she liked mine, …so I got that going for me, which is nice.
If you wanted to get your hands on this Elvira art piece, prints and canvas now available. https://samcarterart.com/product/knottselvira/
