A tremendous honor, in fact probably the biggest of my career so far. It’s surreal to be asked to create a series of pieces to be premiered by the Disney Company to Celebrate 100 years of the thing that has been a major part of my life since I can remember. Luckily I’m quite the nerd when it comes to the history of this company, so I was able to contribute things that I knew should be included. I had an amazing partner in this creating, Melanie Lapovich from Disney. For the actual night of the 100th Anniversary, October 16th 2024, there was an epic royal gala event put on by the amazing team at D23 that took place at the Walt Disney Studios in Burbank CA. The 6 pieces of art that were created for the 100th were blown up to 10′ wide x 8′ tall and lined the main pathway at the Studios. I was lucky enough to be invited as a guest to attend this legendary night, easily one of the most surreal experiences of my life. It’s one thing to see your art on a computer screen, but to see it blown up this big was on another level. But it wasn’t the size of the art, but it was seeing the guests, friends & Cast Members enjoying it. I pride my self on creating art that allows the viewers eyes to explore around the canvas. And with this crowd, in that location was a magical combination.
